Publications

Since soon after he graduated from Manchester University, where he was later invited to teach as a lecturer in its distinguished Law Faculty, Ian has written articles on legal topics within the property and business fields in which he practices. They have been published in the specialist legal periodicals and similar publications.

As an example, his widely acknowledged article on overriding interests in registered land published in “The Conveyancer and Property Lawyer” was cited by Lord Mustill in the course of a celebrated judgment of the Court of Appeal. His work has been referred to in the discussions of the Law Commission and cited in its published papers.

Ian was invited to become a contributing editor of the major work on limitation defences published by the leading legal publishers, Butterworths, “The Law of Limitation”. He is the author of all the chapters on equity and trusts. Since its publication Ian has written several successive releases updating the work.
